Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using NoteVault, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Service Description

NoteVault is a collaborative study platform that allows students to:

  • Upload and share study notes
  • Connect and import content from Notion
  • Participate in study groups and forums
  • Access gamification features and leaderboards
  • Join virtual study rooms

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use NoteVault, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Notion Integration

4.1 Authorization

By connecting your Notion workspace, you authorize NoteVault to access and import pages you explicitly select. You can revoke this authorization at any time.

4.2 Content Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to your Notion content. By importing content to NoteVault, you grant us a license to store, display, and share it according to your sharing settings.

4.3 Admin Review

All imported Notion content is subject to admin review before being made publicly available. We reserve the right to reject content that violates these terms.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Rights

You retain ownership of all content you upload to NoteVault. By uploading content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, and display your content.

5.2 Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that:

  • Violates copyright or intellectual property rights
  • Contains malware or harmful code
  • Is illegal, offensive, or harassing
  • Promotes violence or discrimination
  • Contains personal information of others without consent
  • Is spam or misleading

5.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to review, remove, or reject any content that violates these terms. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use NoteVault for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Scrape or harvest data from the platform
  • Use automated systems to access the service
  • Share your account credentials with others

7. Intellectual Property

NoteVault and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by NoteVault and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our service without our express written permission.

8. Subscription & Payments

8.1 Premium Features

Some features require a paid subscription. Pricing and features are subject to change with notice.

8.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the subscription fee.

8.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

NoteVault is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoteVault shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including:

  • Violation of these Terms of Use
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Extended period of inactivity
  • At your request

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which NoteVault operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of changes by:

  • Posting the updated terms on this page
  • Updating the "Last updated" date
  • Sending an email notification (for material changes)
